Orientation: Day 1

So today is Day 1 of Freshman Orientation here at UA. It's been a long day full of sitting in rooms listening to people talk, trying to get placement scores figured out, and (for me) sitting quietly next to people that I'm too scared to talk to. :\ Go figure.

I have been all over this campus today, and I'm still sure I'm going to get lost on my first day of classes. Seriously.

My day has been based around the Student Union Memorial Center,

and I'm still getting lost in that building too! It's going to be difficult trying to find my way around, but somehow, I think I'll be able to manage.

My shoulders are incredibly sore from carrying around my heavy backpack all day. It probably doesn't help that I had this scratchy material on my shoulders either...but all in all, it's been a great day. This is my first day on campus, without my parents mind you, and I'm starting to feel like a real college student!

Anyway, here are a few things that I've been enjoying here.

Emerald Cocoa Roasted Almonds: Dark Chocolate
Emerald Dark Chocolate Cocoa Roast Almonds 100 Calorie Packs, 7 ct, 6 Pack
These are only 100 calories, and they are available at Walmart! On their site it says that these are $14.88, but I got mine for way cheaper than that. They are super delicious and make eating plain nuts much more enjoyable.

Vivani Watch:
Vivani Silver Tone Simulated Crystal Watch
This is the watch that I wear everyday. I love it. It's so much more convenient than trying to pull out my phone every time I want to check the time, especially if I have to carry my phone in a purse or backpack in the absence of pockets. The watch band is a flexible, "hard rubber"-like material. I don't really know how to describe the material, but it's very comfortable to wear, even when you sweat! You can purchase this at Kohl's. This link actually goes to the page where you can purchase this specific watch. They have a huge variety of this brand for only $24.99. I actually got mine for $12 in the store.

Sunglasses:
I have been wearing this style of sunglasses, the wayfarers, only, obviously, not the real deal. I get mine at places like Big Lots, Big 5, or any other place that sells sunglasses really. I get the super cheap ones, and if you take good care of them, they can last you forever. They work really well at blocking the sun, and I don't find myself squinting behind the lenses as is the case with some other types of sunglasses these days.

Obviously, my laptop is another thing that I've been utilizing and loving lately. It's a Toshiba, model number: PSK2CU-1CQ01U, if you're interested. I got mine at Fry's Electronics, but I'm sure you can also buy this type of computer at Best Buy as well. I'm not sure how expensive it will be at each place. Do your research, of course, and find the computer that suits your needs and has the features that you're looking for!!

I hope everyone is having a fantastic summer so far. Keep out of the sun, wear lots of sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats!

Love always,
Rachel
