Dorm Decorations!

A real-live college topic post! WOO!

For the 2013-2014 school year, I will be working as a Resident Assistant (RA) for one of the residence halls on campus! My job is to help my residence make the transition to college and help ease them through. I'm here to help them with anything they may need. Talking, listening, mediating, etc. I am so excited for this opportunity! This school year is going to be great!

As the title of this post suggests, we are also responsible for decorating our individual hall and the doors of the residents we are responsible for throughout the year. My theme for this semester is a floral theme. It sounds cheesy, but I think it's going to come out looking really nice!

Here are the door decorations that I've made. It took me 3 days to get all of them completed. There are 43 in all- 17 other staff members, around 20 residents, extras.

These are some of the flowers (made by my wonderful mother) that will go on the walls of my hall. They're so cute!
These are all of the flowers that will be on the walls. There are 8 of the patterned ones with the buttons in the middle and 16 of the solid colored ones. (there are orange ones just to the left of the pink ones).

These are the door decorations that I've made. There are big empty spaces in the middle for the names of my residents. They're so cute!!!! It took me 3 days to get all of these done. I traced and cut out each of the big flowers, traced and cut out all of the leaves, and hand decorated each of them. There are other ones that have glitter glue around the edge, which clearly did not last long! It was such a pain to use the glitter.

Anyhow, I'm so excited to see what it's going to look like once all of the decorations are up! I'm also responsible for decorating bulletin boards on my hall, so I'll be doing that as well.

I'll definitely post pictures once I move back and get everything done!

Au revoir. xoxo
