June 19, 2013 - OOTD

As promised, my OOTD!

I have no plans to go anywhere or run any errands today, but I like to get dressed and ready for the day, just in case. It also makes me feel less lazy and much more productive. I'm more inclined to do things and get things done if I'm dressed and ready.

So here we go!

This is the full outfit and doubles as my jeans picture because I couldn't get a flattering angle to show the jeans close up.
Jeans: plain, dark wash skinnies from a really cute boutique in Oceanside, CA called The Closet. Lots of cute clothes and really good prices!
Top: Ross. I got this from Ross ages ago. And by ages I mean ages. I got this whilst I was still in high school, so I've probably had it around 4, going on 5 years now. It still fits wonderfully! I love the colour, and the cut in the front. It has a tight elastic hem which I love. The neckline also has some amazing beadwork.

Next up is the face. (Golly, this is turning into a proper beauty/fashion post isn't it?) These are all of the products that I used today, and generally everyday.

First up are all my eye products.

1. E.L.F. Glittery Black Shadow: I use this to set my eyeliner. Although I use a liquid liner, I always feel much better if it's set with a shadow. Lasts longer, too!
2. E.L.F. White Shadow: This goes under the eye. I really need to get a white liner pencil, but for now, this white shadow does the job. It helps brighten up the eye. I place it right on my bottom lash line and in the corners of my eye.
3. Angle brush: I've this brush for ages. I got it in a large make-up set from my dancing days. I use this to apply the black shadow on my top lash line over the liquid liner.
4. Maybelline Master Precise liquid liner in black: This is an eyeliner pen, and frankly, it is AWESOME. I love using liquid liner because I like the clean cut line. I'm rubbish at any kind of cat eye or winged liner, but I do my best.
5. E.L.F. brush: I do not know what type of brush this is, but I like it. I use it to apply any eyeshadow I'm planning on wearing for that day. In general, I use this for the white.
6. Voluminous Million False Fiber Lashes by Mabelline in black: You're all going to think I'm an insane person for using three different types of mascara, but if you saw my eyelashes without it, you would understand. I like this stuff because it doesn't clump and makes my eyelashes relatively long. I used to wear falsies everyday but got tired of it and switched to mascara. My favourite is the L'Oreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes, but that stuff is expensive! I apply this first.
7. Maybelline One by One Volume in blackish brown: I use this because I adore the brush on it. It helps separate the lashes and makes them look so much fuller! It also helps against clumping. I use the blackish brown or brownish black or whatever it's called because I didn't look carefully and notice that it wasn't black. I apply this second.
8. Maybelline Mega Plush Volume in black: A quick swish of this goes on last. It makes my eyelashes softer and also helps against clumping. I also just like it.

Phew. Onto the face.
I have been blessed with gloriously even skin tone, so this is all I use on a daily basis. Sometimes I'll put on blush if I'm feeling crazy.
1. Fluffy brush: I believe this brush came with a huge make-up train case that I received as a gift. It's fluffy and doubles as my powder/blush brush.
2. Maybelline FIT me! concealer: To cover up those pesky spots!
3. Maybelline FIT me! powder in 355: I bought this powder slightly too dark for me, but I use the fluffy brush to apply which gives me a nice even colour without making me look orange or giving me that awful line across my jawbone. Of course I blend down onto my neck, though.

On my lips I must always be wearing chapstick, and the Blistex medicated varieties do wonders. So I wear that everyday and then a lipgloss of some sort if I'm feeling fancy.

Today it's MAC's Lustreglass in "Ornamental" as shown above. It's a really nice deep red colour, with a hint of gold sparkles. It looks scary dark in the bottle but gives just the right amount of colour and shine on the lips. I love it!

Hair today is a simple french braid. Easy peasy.

Shoes: I got these at the Van's outlet store. They're grey suede. You can barely see it in this photo, but the stitching is in the Oxford style.

And lastly...

Perfume: PINK by Victoria's Secret in "Fresh and Clean". I like this stuff because it's light, and just as the name suggests, smells fresh and clean!

Wowzers that was long. Congratulations to you if you've actually made it down this far!

Have a wonderful week!

Au revoir! xoxo
