Mini Maple!

My summer project this year is growing a maple tree. No joke.

At my house, we have huge, gorgeous maple trees all along the front of our yard on the little median  that is separated from our yard by the sidewalk. This is the time of year where they drop thousands of their little twirly, seed pod thingys.

Said twirly, seed pod.

My family and I were working out in our front yard, planting new plants and generally just sprucing up the place.

My mom had picked up one of those pods, although it was brown and not nearly as pretty, and I jokingly said I was going to plant it and see what happened.

Little did I know that it would actually sprout. For a long time it was just the two long, green leaves in the picture below. Then the two little leaves at the bottom came, and then the leaves in the middle very recently.

I am going to be honest here, checking on this little plant every day is one of the highlights of my day which gives you an idea of just how boring my summer has been. Blessedly boring, mind you.

Anyhow, I'm so excited to see what it turns in to. My mom keeps saying that she doesn't think anything is going to happen, but I have faith in my tiny maple tree!!

Au revoir! xoxo
