Wet 'n Wild Megalast Nail Polish

It's Wednesday! That means a beauty-ish post.

I want to talk about a nail polish today, because I have a bit of a nail polish obsession. (Maybe I'll show you my collection one day..)

There is a certain brand of nail polish that I've been consistently impressed with. It's in the title.

Wet 'n Wild's Megalast nail polish. I know that wet 'n wild isn't considered a high end beauty brand, and most of their stuff is just eh, in my opinion, but this nail polish blew me away.

I have a few of these nail polishes. They are affordable and pretty great quality if you ask me. The ones I'll show are just the ones I have on me.

Cool. So why do you love them so much?

Good question. Let's start with the actual brush itself. I absolutely love this brush! The tip is rounded which makes it really easy to get right down to the cuticle without getting nail polish everywhere. I believe they call it a "manicure" tip.

Next, the formula. Now, I'm no expert, but I have experienced many different types of nail polish. I like this particular brand because the formula has a great consistency. I usually do two coats of color, no matter what brand I'm using, sometimes three. I like my nail color to be pretty dark. With this polish, I only really need two coats, three if I'm feeling really crazy. It covers well. I try to let it dry a bit between coats to get the most of the color. I don't want the second coat to just be redistributing the first.

Drying time. The drying time is actually pretty quick. It's not instant, of course, but it's not too long either. I try to do my nails when I don't need to do anything with my hands or I'm working on my computer anyway, but I find that this nail polish dries pretty quickly regardless.

That review was probably pretty terrible, but I'm a big believer in trying things out on your own and formulating your own opinion about it. I like reviews because they help me decide if I'll try the product, but I try to reserve judgement till after I've used it.

Here are the colors I've been using all summer that I love.

205B- Sugar Coat

You can't really tell from the picture, but it's a gorgeous soft pink. It looks a lot more pink in the bottle, but it comes out a beautiful soft neutral pink. It's great if you want to have your nails done, but not with a color that's super flashy or eye catching. I like it because it's very unassuming but beautiful if you really take a look at it.

216B- Under Your Spell

This is more of a fall shade, but I love it nonetheless. It is a very dark maroonish color with red sparkle. It looks a lot more red in the bottle than on the nail. When you put it on, the base color is actually a black. It's not as dark as using straight black nail polish, but it's black not red. The red sparkles really pop on this dark background. I would recommend two coats of this color.

And finally, my favorite shade, 201C- Wet Cement.

This is by far one of my favorite nail colors I've ever used. It's a stunning shade of taupe-y brown. It is the perfect "wet cement" shade. It's also a great neutral (I've been into neutral polishes as of late). I use only two coats of this to get the vibrancy and color I'm looking for. This is also great if you're looking for a color that will make your look feel "finished" without being too flashy. I think it could be a great professional color.

Have you ever tried these before? What's your favorite brand of nail polish?

xoxo
