Forgotten Posts and First Days
Right, so, I missed 2 days in a row.
I'm sorry! I've been swamped with homework and when I finish, I don't want to think, I just want to turn my brain to mush by watching netflix. Can you blame me?
Anyway, I'll do yesterday's post now, and then today's post later as a peace offering.
Last week was my first week of grad school. It went fine, as first days usually do. I've had 17 first days of school, all of which have gone well...at least the ones I can remember.
What makes a first day of school? Especially when you get into high school and college. These days, especially, I feel like can be stressful. In high school it's about making an impression, especially since you're probably with the same people you've been with since elementary school.
I guess I don't really have any advice on making a fantastic first day of school. I've always just tried to be confident in myself, even if I was scared out of my mind or completely unsure of what to do or where to go. Don't worry so much about what other people think of you. I know this can be hard in high school, but trust me, you'll have so much less stress if you don't let other people's opinions have too much influence in your life (this is also a good life philosophy).
As the years go on, it gets easier. You'll learn different little tips and tricks to help you navigate successfully through your first day and weeks.
This is not to say that everyone other than me has terrible first days of school. I think overall, many people have great first days of school. I do think that there's a lot of mental stress, especially as you get older, as mentioned before.
I think what I'm trying to say is don't sweat it. You'll look fabulous, and everything will go the way it's meant to!
Sorry this post is kind of random and not very well written. This is the first thing I've done with my brain today so..
Anyway, au revoir et à demain,
Rachel
